About Wincomers

The association WINCOMERS "World Institute for Network COntrol and MEter Reading Systems”  has been active for a number of years with the objective of stimulating awareness and contributing to the development of last generation tecnologies and solutions in the field of remote data collection, AMR and control of utility distribution networks.

The Association’s principal activities include:

·     To favour the establishment of a culture within Italy focused on network services based on metering and control: The meter units, in their function as terminal point of the network, constitute the fundamental element for service provision to end customer.

·     Organise and hold conferences, debates, seminars and research initiatives of related subject as well as divulging findings and solution developements. The last such event (October 2006) recorded the presence of 74 companies and 120 participants.

·     Organise training and specialisation courses dedicated to professionals of this sector.

·     Organise work groups specific to data management issues.

·     Provide on-line scientific documentation reserved to WINCOMERS members coupled with information of general public utility accessible to all who may be involved or interested in study and research of the field of metering.

·     To favour the birth of hybrid collaborative study groups emerging from one or more partner Associations even if only for single market sectors such as electricity, gas or water.

·     Promote and assist the compiling and publishing of sector specific books, industry magazines and other texts, including multimedia,.

Association members may include all those who participate and expressly share in the scope of the Association, including all persons, companies and associations be they Italian or international.

In particular the WINCOMERS Association aims to bring together the interests of 4 categories:

·      The users of these technologies: Distribution companies / public utilities

·      Technology providers and suppliers: including metering manufacturers, system integrators and providers of data management and back-office functions.

·      Sector Associations, universities, research institutes and public entities

·      Liberalised market legislators and certifying bodies.

All the above entities, whether traditional or innovative in nature, may meet and exchange views in the WINCOMERS Association.

The Association’s permits the following classes of membership: founder members, ordinary members, supporting members and honorary members.
